Atelier Ciseaux 2008 - 2018

Last year, when we announced the labels break, we had no idea what to expect, what ACs future would be like, if it would be temporary or forever. We needed to take a step back and think about it in order to take the most honest decision for us and for the label. Being/ staying passionate and committed always has been the most important. We got an answer faster than we wanted when my friend and collaborator, Philippe Rey, died of a cancer in November 2018. Keeping the label alive without him just wasnt an option.

Philippe joined the label in 2009, one year after its debut. We became friends after I booked shows for his band, Sincabeza. He was a talented and respected musician, involved in the musical scene since many years. He was curious, funny and always keen on helping you out. We shared the same love for music, mini horses and peanuts.

Philippe did so much for the label, its him who spent a great deal of time building our magnificent and quite complex website. After he past away, I started to look for help to keep our website alive because Philippe was the captain, the one and only capable of managing its technical aspects. Because it was the home we shared and built together, a shelter so to speak, it was very important to me that our site stayed online. This past year, I woke up everyday thinking about how I could possibly save it.

It took a whole year, and I often thought I would not succeed. Today, Im so relieved and glad we could do it. And it would not have been possible without the huge help of Zeynep, Fabien and Eric and all the people who tried to assist in different ways. Thank you so much, that means a lot to me.

Philippe, I miss you. AC has been a big part of my life, and I'm so glad I shared it with you. Stay cacahute !

Once more, I would like to thank all the people who have supported AC during these 10 years. Atelier Ciseaux will remain my heart project for ever. You can continue to visit our website, we still have few records available.

Take care of what matters to you Love,
R.
